A frequent lasting deficiency from a stroke is weakness and/or paralysis of an arm,hand and fingers psi. This may include partial or no movement including fingers being curled or the hand being closed in a fist. This is usually addressed through occupational therapy. Leg/Foot/Toes(Walking & Balance)
The effect that a stroke has on the SURVIVORS leg,knee,foot and toes affecting the ability to walk and/or maintain balance varies by SURVIVOR.

New Technologies
One of the few pieces of good news for stroke survivors is that there is a lot of research being done on tools to help our efforts to overcome the deficiencies the stroke has left us with Unfortunately they tend to be very expensive to buy. Insurance coverage varies by company. However,as time goes on these companies continue to work towards getting coverage (including by Medicare. So if you’re interested in one that currently isn’t covered. Be sure to occasionally check back with the company on the status of approval by your insurance provider. I personally have interest in trying some of these devices. To get them will usually require a prescription from your doctor. My Neurologist is usually willing to write the prescription after he reviews the company’s website to understand how the device works and what it does,as well as patient testimonials on their experience using the device. My biggest frustration with some of these companies is that that don’t have therapist near where I live lo
